THE GREAT Malvern Priory is set to host one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragic comedies.
Brought to the stage by the Worcester Repertory Company, The Merchant of Venice tells the tale of love, greed, faith and mistaken identities where great friendship conquers all.
Audiences can follow the story of failed Venice merchant Bassanio as he tries to win the hand of Portia. The play unravels to its dramatic end after friend Antonio defaults on his loan to money lender Shylock, who tries to enforce his gruesome penalty of taking a pound of Antonio’s flesh.
Performances start at 7.30pm on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, with a Saturday matinée at 2.30pm.
Tickets costing £16.80 (£13.44) including booking fee can be booked online at www.malvern-theatres.co.uk or by calling 01684 892277.
