A £10,000 grant from the National Lottery will enable a Malvern charity to launch a new after hours club at a Worcester school.

Malvern Special Families, which supports families who have children with disabilities, has been awarded the money by the Big Lottery Fund to provide a new after school club for young people with disabilities at Regency High School on Carnforth Drive.

Maria Munday, Malvern Special Families’ business manager said: “It is really good news for Malvern Special Families to be getting a grant from the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund.

“This money will enable us to set up an additional after school club at Regency High School.

“As we have waiting lists for places at our existing clubs we are delighted to be able to provide an additional weekly club for local children and young people with special needs.”

Sara Harding, headteacher of Regency High School, added: “Malvern Special Families is a fantastic organisation that puts young people with disabilities and their families at the heart of all they do.

“Their after school and holiday clubs are of enormous benefit to the young people who attend, allowing them to access a wide range of activities to develop their personal and social skills.

“The opportunities that are provided in terms of support for young people and their families are invaluable.”
