Grants to help residents support community and find jobs

Malvern Editorial 5th Nov, 2013 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

FESTIVAL housing is offering a community grant worth £700 to residents for positive causes.

The money has been made available to cover expenses related to education, training and support with community activities and celebrations.

Clare Huyton, director of housing and communities, said: “Sometimes a small amount of money can make all the difference.

“Perhaps a person needs to smarten up for an interview, go on a course, could accept a job if they could afford to buy a bike or could set up a community group if they had a few hundred pounds to rent a venue and buy some resources.

“That’s where the Helping Hand fund can be the difference and make it happen.”

Tenants of Festival Housing can apply for funding between £300 and £700 at www.festivalhousing.org or by picking up an application form at the Malvern Office at Grovewood Road.

Alternatively, people can contact Lara Latcham for help at [email protected] or on 01684 579362.

The deadline for applications is 12pm on December 16.
