UPDATE - Fire engine and car collide on A449 near British Camp reservoir

THE A449 at British Camp reservoir near Ledbury has been temporarily closed in both directions after a fire engine and a car collided earlier today.

The fire engine was on its way to an emergency call when the crash happened on the road between Malvern and Ledbury just after 1pm.

Nobody was injured and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have issued the following statement:




“Today (March 2), at approximately 13.05pm, firefighters from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were involved in a road traffic collision with a car, near British Camp Road in Malvern, while responding to an emergency call.

“The collision involved a fire engine and a car that contained a driver and two further passengers. Firefighters made the scene safe and the road was temporarily shut by the police while the accident was investigated.


“At this time there appears to have been no injuries reported from either of the vehicles.”
