BOSSES at Abbey College are offering to buy one or a number of trees to benefit Malvern – in what is its biggest community gesture yet.
The Wells Road college, which caters for foreign students, has a significant budget to provide a community centre, a Malvern group, or residents in the town who would like to benefit from having a tree planted at their grounds.
As well as paying the cost for a tree or trees, the college is also willing to pay any attached landscaping costs.
Hekmat Kaveh, director at Abbey College, said: “We want to do something for the community and the suggestion of donating a tree just seemed like a really nice idea when we discussed it at length.
“Unforunately we are not based in the centre of town and not everyone knows who we are, so we are keen to increase our presence in the town and believe this will help.
“It would be great to hear from the community.”
Anyone who would like to take up the college’s offer should call 01684 892300 or email a request to [email protected].
