All chain-ge as Coun Dean Clarke becomes Malvern Hills District Council chairman

THE NEW chairman of Malvern Hills District Council has chosen the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven (WBUH) as his charity of the year, writes Elliot Ball.

Coun Dean Clarke made the announcement as he took over from Coun Andrea Morgan who completed her year in office last week.

The WBUH supports people with breast cancer and their families across Worcestershire.

He said: “I am privileged to be taking over the role as Chairman for Malvern Hills District Council and I am looking forward to the year ahead.”

Coun Clarke has been a district Councillor for ten years and will devote the next 12 months to his new duties.

During her time in the role Coun Morgan raised just over £3,000 for Worcestershire Cancer Aid.

In her most recent charity effort Coun Morgan collected more than £1,500 for charity as part her Chairman Charity Chorus Challenge when she sang with choirs from 87 churches across the district.

Coun Andrea Morgan, said: “I am so proud to have been chairman and I have loved every minute of it.”
