ANIMAL rights campaigners have raised more than £190 for the Badger Trust West Midlands at a stall and street collection in Malvern.

Members of Worcestershire Vegans and Veggies (WVV) were in the town on Saturday with some dressed as badgers while distributing leaflets to the public.

A total of £191.22 was raised for the trust which helps prevent the culling of badgers.

WVV’s communication officer Ronald Lee said: “We are delighted at the generosity of the public.

“This was further evidence of the great love that people in this country have for badgers and the very strong opposition to the killing of these animals.”
