Another good year of A Level results for Malvern College

Malvern Editorial 17th Aug, 2017   0

MALVERN College is celebrating another superb year of results with the announcement of notable A level examination successes.

Following this year’s outstanding International Baccalaureate (IB) results where 14 pupils achieved 42 points and over (out of a maximum of 45 points), including three pupils who got the full 45 points, this year’s A level candidates at Malvern have achieved similarly impressive results with more than 20 per cent of the candidates achieving at least three As.

Among these are pupils were Amelia Law, Bertie Davis, Charlie Bijl, Henry Wall, Alice Clemit, Freddie Barrell, Emily Bennett, Martha Doherty, Josh Haynes, Maggie Wong, Joseph Murgatroyd and James Scott.

The last of these, James Scott, is currently representing England Rugby under-18s in South Africa.

Among the IB students who received the ‘full house’ of 45 points (achieved by 0.01 per cent of all pupils worldwide) was Alex Tocher who will go on to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences.

Headmaster Antony Clark, said, “I am absolutely delighted with the results of our pupils which are indicative not only of the ability of the students and staff but also of their hard work.

“The vast majority of our pupils achieved results which were better than our expectations and this is greatly to their credit as it is the value added component that is the most critical feature of results.

“I predict a bright future for them as they move to university or into other spheres.”
