Anti-social motorbike riding - Malvern man issued with Section 59 warning over damage to farmer's field

A MALVERN man has been issued with a Section 59 warning notice after riding a motorbike anti-socially on a farmer’s field.

The 22-year-old was seen by PCSO Kevin Tudge who was on patrol in Elgar Avenue when he saw the incident off Mayfield Road.

The field is owned by Madresfield estates which did not give permission for anyone to ride or drive motor vehicles on the land.

Over the years people who have ridden motorbikes on the field have been telling police they have permission from the land owner.

Malvern Police say this is simply not the case.

“We want that message to go out to those who are thinking of doing so, you do not have permission.

“The area is used by members of the public to walk their dogs and there has previously been criminal damage caused by such actions.

“Such actions are likely to cause alarm, harassment and distress.”

The issued warning notice lasts for 12 months. If the man is witnessed to ride or drive any motorised in such a manner in that time period, the vehicle will be seized.

Malvern Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We work closely with our community members to help keep Malvern safe and we will continue to patrol such areas.”
