THOSE with an interest in helping the community can now apply for a vacant position on Malvern Town Council.
There is currently a vacancy for a Town Councillor in St Joseph’s Ward.
The vacancy will be filled by co-option at a Council meeting on Wednesday, May 15.
Those wishing to apply will be able to until midday on Tuesday, May 7.
No qualifications or experience is needed, but you need to be a British or commonwealth citizen, at least 18 years old or registered to vote in the area.
You can also apply if you have lived, worked, or owned property in St Joseph’s for at least twelve months before an election.
Councillors are expected to give up a few hours of their time each month to help the community.
The Town Council works on the maintenance and upkeep of parks and play areas, sports pitches, allotment sites, gas lamps, bins, bus shelters and benches.
The authority also holds events such as Bands in the Park, Remembrance, the Christmas Festival and fundraises for the Mayor’s charity.
And it aims to represent the views of Malvern residents on issues such as planning, highways and the environment.
