A SPECIAL autumn concert in Malvern has been heralded a success after it exceeded fund-raising expectations.
Presented by up-and-coming acapella group Serenata, the event raised more than £900 for Malvern Special Families, a charity which supports families who have children with disabilities.
St Peter’s Church was packed full on the night as residents turned up to show their support for the charity which this year is celebrating its 30th birthday.
The lively and light-hearted concert, entitled Landscapes and Harvest, offered a range of music from traditional folk songs to The Beatles as well as works by county composers Liz Johnson and Alec Roth.
Sarah Musgrave, one of the trustees at Malvern Special Families, said: “It was such a warming sight to see so many people from the community turn up and support Malvern Special Families.
“Thank you to all of the singers from Serenata and everyone who came along and so generously supported the event, making it a huge success for our small charity.”
Serenata member Bella Johnson added: “We really enjoyed the concert and it was a pleasure to be able to support Malvern Special Families which does such good work providing play schemes for children with disabilities.”
