MORE than 90,000 people flocked to Malvern for the 2015 Royal Three Counties Show.

The very best in British farming and livestock was on display as visitors enjoyed a host of entertainment at the Three Counties Showground.

British Olympian Carl Hester MBE was just one of the big names to perform a dressage routine, while other thrills included the Parachute Regiment’s free fall team ‘The Red Devils’, Paws for Thought dog agility and Roman chariot racing from the Devils Horsemen.

VISITORS from across the UK flockeed to Malvern at the weekend as the country’s largest livestock and equine show came to the town.

The three-day event ran from Friday (June 12) to Sunday (June 14) and saw a number of national breed societies choose it as their venue for hosting annual breed awards.

More than 7,000 animals were entered into competitions and this year’s show will bring an estimated £10million to the local economy.

The event had two royal links this year – as well as HRH The Princess Royal being patron, HM The Queen also entered Highland ponies from the Balmoral estate into competitions.

Ken Nottage, CEO of the Three Counties Agricultural Society, said: “We are really pleased with the success of this year’s show.

“Our hope is to showcase what makes Britain a great farming nation and specifically showcase the contribution from the beautiful three counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

“Even though the weather was not particularly kind to us, the public turned out in force to support the very best in British farming and food.”

West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin added: “This is a huge annual boost to the area as well as keeping Malvern firmly on the tourist map across the UK and the world.

“This year, we are all trying to promote the importance of farming as a career, and the show is a wonderful way to demonstrate all the varied opportunities young people can take up in this industry.”
