Books for Amnesty in Malvern announces opening date for new store

Malvern Editorial 14th Feb, 2024   0

THE NON-PROFIT Books for Amnesty store in Malvern is opening its new store on Thursday (February 15).

Books for Amnesty Malvern has been raising funds for the human rights charity – Amnesty International – for 25 years at it’s store on Edith Walk.

The charity’s second hand book shop will be moving to 12 Church Walk, Malvern for its re-opening.

Amnesty International has been fighting for human rights improvements for half a century.

The organisation was awarded the 1977 Nobel Peace Prize for its “defence of human dignity against torture” and the United Nations Prize in the Field of Human Rights in 1978.

The store operators recently called for donations and volunteers to help stock and run its new store.

A spokesperson for Books for Amnesty Malvern said: “If you would like to join an enthusiastic, friendly team, who love books and want to support the work of Amnesty International, we would love to hear from you.

“The work involves selling books at the counter, sorting, pricing and displaying book donations and, the most enjoyable bit, interacting with our lovely and interesting customers.”

To enquire about volunteering email [email protected] or knock on the shop door between 10am and 4pm – Tuesday to Friday (12 Church Walk, Great Malvern).
