BOOKS of Condolence for residents who want to pay tribute to the Late Queen Elizabeth II have opened across Malvern Hills District.

They will be available to sign at Great Malvern Priory, Church St, The Pump Rooms, Teme St, Tenbury Wells, The Memorial Hall in Upton-upon-Severn and at St Mary’s Church, Church St, Kempsey.

An online Worcestershire book of condolence can be signed here.

People are encouraged to donate to charity in memory of the service The Queen gave to her people rather than lay flowers.

Details of suggested charities to donate to are available at www.royal.uk/charities-and-patronages.

Donations to Worcestershire Community Foundation at www.worcscf.org.uk are also encouraged.

  Floral Tributes

Those who do want to lay floral tributes can do so at:

  • The Memorial Garden, Civic Gardens (off Teme Street car park, Tenbury)

  • The Bandstand, Priory Park, Priory Road, Great Malvern,

  • The area on the Old Churchyard behind the War Memorial that runs alongside the retaining wall (opposite The Star Inn), High Street junction with Church Street, Upton upon Severn.

  • The grassed area around The War Memorial, St Mary’s Church, Church St, Kempsey,

Coun John Michael, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, said: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.

“She was a much loved and iconic figure not just throughout the country but across the entire globe.

“Her extraordinary life and reign saw her carry out innumerable engagements – proof of her devotion to a life of service. With links to over 600 charities, military associations, professional bodies and public service organisations, Her Majesty The Queen has left behind an incalculable legacy.

“On behalf of everyone at Malvern Hills District Council, we send our condolences to The Royal Family at this sad time.”
