PEOPLE are being urged to brew up some cash for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity (WAHC) by taking part in the NHS Big Tea event at 3pm on July 5.
Following a year like no other, the WAHC wants as many people as possible to show their love and thanks for staff and volunteers on the NHS’ birthday by hosting or taking part in an event.
Each event can be in person or virtual, with the community, friends, family or at work.
It is a chance to reflect and say thank you for everything that NHS staff and volunteers have done and continue to do.
People can text £5 to support NHS charities and tag five friends on social media and calling on them to do the same.
Sophie Burt, WAHC’s head of fund-raising and community development, said: “As a charity we have so much more to do to help our staff and services recover from the pandemic.
“By taking part in the NHS Big Tea, either by raising funds or by spreading the word, you will make sure the charity can continue to be there for the staff, patients and services of your local hospitals.”
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity has used the funds it received to provide wellbeing items and care packages for staff, as well as psychological support as they worked magnificently and tirelessly through one of the most challenging periods in the history of the NHS.
