Bromsberrow residents invited to 'adopt a planter'

BROMSBERROW residents are being encouraged to ‘adopt a planter’ and help brighten up their village.

Paggie Jones, who is a volunteer at The Shop, has launched the new scheme in a bid to help the area outside the store look more pretty and inviting.

Green thumbed residents wanting to take part will be able to select a tub of their own and fill it with whatever glorious flowers and plants they desire. They will then be responsible for keeping it looking nice by maintaining it throughout the season.

Staff at The Shop have been leading by example and have already set their own planter up.

Jan Long, who is a volunteer and Rotarian, said: “I think it is a terrific idea and although I am hopeless at gardening I have filled my planter with geraniums, fuchsias, pansies and two clematis.

“I even found a little sign which says Jan’s garden.”

Jan added they made a huge effort to keep the interior of The Shop spotlessly clean and attractive and they wanted to do the same outside as well.

She hoped it would encourage other businesses to do the same.
