BROMSBERROW residents marked Red Nose day by taking part in a Heart Start training scheme.
The British Heart Foundation brought members of the community together to take part in a special day course held at Bromsberrow Village Hall.
The session taught the basics of recognising the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and covered performing CPR, dealing with choking, countering serious bleeding and putting someone in the recovery position.
Participants were given hands-on training, practising on models wearing the famous red noses which helped to lessen the tension whilst focusing on the seriousness of the course.
Short films were also shown to illustrate the action taken in real life situations aiding the confidence of the trainees.
Jan Long, who took part in the session, said: “The course was extremely useful and I feel confident about the action to take if I’m ever faced with a real life situation.
“Working in a community shop it is very important to have the skills to potentially save someone’s life.”
