A BUSINESS Expo which took place at Malvern’s Three Counties Showground has been hailed a great success after more than 800 people went along to it.
The bi-annual event, organised by the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, saw firms from the two counties come together to network, build contacts and generate new business.
There were more than 120 exhibition stands from different companies promoting their products and services.
Andrea Borwell-Fox, of Malvern based software house, borwell Limited which exhibited on the day, said the expo was the best one yet.
“The hall was busy throughout the day, which meant having an exhibition stand was extremely valuable.”
There were two high profile guest speakers on the day.
One was Dr Adam Marshall, the executive director of policy and external affairs at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC).
He spoke about Britain’s future economic potential, the forthcoming election and the Chamber’s flagship policy survey, the Quarterly Economic Survey which supplies information to institutions such as the Bank of England and central government.
Kevin Gaskell, who has spearheaded global motoring brands, including BMW UK and Porsche UK, also gave a presentation based on on his experience of businesses of all shapes and sizes.
In celebration of the recent announcement that Worcester has been chosen to host the forthcoming 2015 European Wheelchair Basketball Championships, members of the Great British team and coaching staff donated their time to give people a crash course in Wheelchair Basketball and let them try their hand against some of the world’s top players.
Mike Ashton, Chief Executive of the Chamber, said: “The expo was a fantastic occasion once again.
“It was incredibly refreshing to see so many new and old faces enjoying the day and, most importantly, making new contacts and conducting business.
“The addition of two highly-influential speakers and the Great Britain Wheelchair Basketball team really did cement this Expo as the best one yet.”
