Businesses in Malvern's Poolbrook Road want people to know they are open, despite highway closure

BUSINESSES in Poolbrook Road in Malvern want to let shoppers know their premises are open even though the road is closed.

The Observer was contacted by Alison Pearson from the Poolbrook Kitchen and Coffee Shop who wanted to get the message across.

She said: “This is the second time we have had to struggle to let people know we are open as the same thing happened as we opened after the first lockdown.

“On this second occasion we weren’t given any notice of the road closure and we are now in the third week of the road being closed with another week to week and a half before it opens again.”

She claimed the diversion signs were very vague and said nothing about businesses still being open.

“We have had it tough enough this year without this added disadvantage,” added Alison.

Customers will be very welcome to all the businesses in Poolbrook Road.
