AN ATTEMPTED burglary in Pickersleigh has prompted a call for witnesses as well as safety advice from police.

The incident happened when someone tried to break into a property in Sunrise off Pickersleigh Road between 6.55pm and 11.15pm on Saturday, May 17 while the householders were out.

The culprit tried to force a window and a door but failed to gain entry.

PC Adam Howard from Worcester Proactive Team urged residents who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to contact him by calling 101 and using the incident number 210s 180514 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Following the incident police have also urged people to be vigilant and register valuable items at www.immobilise.com which can also help bring prosecutions by proving property is stolen.

Further crime prevention advice is available at www.westmercia.police.uk including Citadel House, a new interactive feature which can be navigated room to room.
