RESIDENTS are being urged to play their part in bringing a BMX track back to Malvern.
A campaign was launched to recreate the Malvern Hillbillies BMX Club in December and it has since picked up speed with a Facebook page notching up more than 1,000 likes after it was put in place.
Nick Herbert helped officially reform the group and the 39-year-old is now bidding to find a suitable track for the keen cyclists to use.
Along with the track, there are also plans afoot to create a mountain bike trail, a pump track and many more cycling provisions.
Nick, who raced for the original club, said:”Public backing is essential for this to be a success and help create a facility which will be enjoyed by future generations, as well as the community today.
“Please take a few minutes to fill out a simple online survey and help make this happen.”
Nick said he was looking to carry on a family tradition as his parents were once key members of the club and he added their ‘eyes lit up’ when he told them he was hoping to bring it back to the town.
Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/X2DHTWP to fill in the survey or follow Malvern Hillbillies BMX Club on Facebook and message Nick with ideas or information.
The club hopes to get 500 surveys filled out and, as of Saturday (March 7), 306 people had completed it.
