Campaign launched to save Meisha who was found in very poor condition

STAFF at Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter near Malvern have launched a campaign to help fund live-saving treatment for a cute-looking dog currently in serious poor health.

A £1,000 appeal aims to help Meisha get back to full recovery, giving her a new life she deserves.

The Newland based shelter took her in after being rescued from a home. But she was found to be in a very poor condition and was very weak.

It is understood Meisha is suffering from severe malnutrition and has an infection in both her ears.

The campaign’s JustGiving Page reads: “She had a swollen belly and very little muscle tone on her body and head.

For the first couple of days we struggled to get her to stand up and had to use a sling to help her to her feet.

“We had her checked by our vet straight away who wanted to take some blood to test to ascertain what was wrong with her. She was discovered to be suffering from severe malnutrition.

“However she may have to undergo more tests in 4 – 6 weeks to see if she has an issue with her thyroid. She was also discovered to have an infection in both her ears so is on medication to help this.

“Due to her malnutrition we don’t know if she will have any other health issues. We will obviously be keeping a very close eye on her and giving her plenty of TLC.”
