A DOG was abducted from a home in Malvern while its owner was at a funeral.

The German Shepard was chained up in a kennel in the back garden of a house off Birchwood Drive.

It is believed thieves went into the garden through a gate off a public footpath, at some point between 2pm and 5pm on Wednesday (August 19), before they took a lead from on top of the kennel and whisked her away.

The family pet was wearing a red collar and has been micro-chipped.

Between 7.30pm and 10pm on August 18 the victim put her bag, which contained the gold 5s, inside the tent where it was taken.
