Car parks on Malvern Hills remain closed for third day

Malvern Editorial 12th Dec, 2017   0

CAR parks remain closed for a third day as the temperatures stay below freezing on the Malvern Hills.

With lots of snow still around and high chance of icy conditions the Malvern Hills Trust, formerly the Conservators, has had to keep the car parks closed today (Tuesday).

The lower car park on Link Common is the only currently accessible car park as many remain under a thick cover of snow.

The trust’s field staff are hoping to clear part of British Camp ready for tomorrow (Wednesday) but the majority will remain closed until the snow starts to melt as temperatures rise.

Other members of the team are working to clear some of the branches and trees which have collapsed under the weight of snow.

A trust spokesperson said: “We are working through these in order of priority and accessibility.

“There’s still six to eight inches of snow on the tops of the hills and the paths are icy in places so please take care if you’re venturing out on them.”
