MALVERN businesses will soon be able to apply for financial aid when they recruit a young Malvern apprentice.
The new cash incentive scheme, launched by Malvern Hills District Council, will enable firms in sectors such as cyber security and ICT, engineering, advanced manufacturing and agri-tech, to claim £1,000 grants.
The Malvern Hills Apprenticeship Grant Scheme will be officially launched at the Business Future networking lunch a week on Monday (March 23) at Malvern Rugby Club.
At the event, leading business figures from UTC Aerospace Systems and Fortis Living will be talking about how apprenticeships have contributed to the success of their companies.
The event is free and will take place between 12.30pm and 2pm and anyone wanting to find out more on how apprenticeships work are invited.
Coun Phil Grove said: “This grant will encourage businesses to take another look at the cost-benefit of recruiting apprentices, and with employer support from the newly launched Worcestershire Apprenticeships programme, there’s never been a better time to take on an apprentice.
“This cash boost will help Malvern Hills businesses secure the skills they need for future growth, and ensure our young people find career opportunities locally.”
