CCTV put up in Malvern street after repeated criminal damage to Peugeot

CCTV has been temporarily installed to protect a car which has had its tyres slashed, wing mirrors broken and body scratched.

It is believed the silver Peugeot usually parked in Harbinger Avenue and Sunrise in Pickersleigh, has been singled out after repeated incidents of criminal damage during the last 12 months.

No other vehicles or properties have been affected in the area.

Police have access to a limited number of both covert and overt CCTV systems which they can use where appropriate to tackle long-term issues of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Their deployment is assessed on a case by case basis and is complimented by extra police patrols.

PC Dave Wise said: “We hope that this action sends a message to the offender that we will do everything we can to protect our residents from revictimisation.”

Anyone who sees any suspicious activity should call police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.

Clear signage is used to indicate where CCTV is being used in instances such as this but anyone concerned about their privacy can contact [email protected] for more information.
