Celebration to mark 10 years of the Malvern Cube

Malvern Editorial 26th Apr, 2022   0

A CELEBRATION will be held to mark the 10th anniversary of Malvern Cube and Community Arts Centre in Albert Park Road North.

During the last decade it has offered bands, theatre, comedy, workshops, skateboarding, markets, classes, the youth club and much more.

On May 1 Malvern Cube will be holding a Ceilidh with the Silurian Big Band.

The first event held at the Cube was when Malvern Youth and Community Trust took over the building exactly 10 years ago.

It was a Ceilidh and the ticket prices were £5 – the same as they are today.

The Cube wants to welcome the community to this celebratory birthday bash, complete with bar.

A special appearance will be made by the Very Grimm Brothers and, for those who do not feel like dancing, there will be plenty of seating so people can watch all of the entertainment.

People can get their tickets from the Cube directly or online at malvercube.com/events and support the venue which is entirely run by an independent charity, an army of volunteers and a small staff team.

An exhibition of the history of the iconic 1960s youth centre will also open on May 1.

It will feature memories about the youth centre – covering its history back to 1966, provided by the community and archival research.

‘Malvern Youth Centre – A Retrospective’ will open to the public at 4pm on Sunday, May 1, and be available to view throughout the month of May at the Cube.
