Celebrities and food lined up for RHS Malvern Spring Festival

Malvern Editorial 20th Jan, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

FOOD and drink will feature in this year’s RHS Malvern Spring Festival for the first time, new details have revealed.

Formerly known as the Malvern Spring Gardening Show, RHS has been included in the title for the 2014 event to solidify the strong connection with the Royal Horticultural Society and the Three Counties Agricultural Society (TCAS).

The festival will take place between Thursday, May 8 to Sunday, May 11 at the Three Counties Showground and will see a dedicated food and drink pavilion at the heart of the venue.

Chefs such as James Martin from BBC’s Saturday Kitchen will be performing demonstrations throughout the weekend while the food court will provide a range of artisan food and drink from regional, national and international producers.

The Malvern show is traditionally one of the first big events of the gardening season and has become renowned for showcasing trends in garden design and planting.

This year the RHS will introduce the Get Going, Get Growing drive into the festival to encourage people to grow their own plants and vegetables.

Blue Peter’s Chris Collins along with Carol Klein, presenter of BBC’s Gardener’s World, will be among those providing workshops and exhibitions.

Ken Nottage CEO at the TCAS, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our relationship with the RHS, as a key event in its portfolio of shows.

“The RHS leads the way when it comes to showcasing world-class garden design and planting, so renaming the show RHS Malvern is an honour which recognises its reputation for show gardens and floral displays, known for their outstanding quality and charm.”

Tickets are on sale for £14.50 for RHS and TCAS members and £15.50 for non-members. They will also be available on the door for £18.
