Cello concert in Malvern raises thousands for county hospice

THOUSANDS of pounds were raised for a county hospice at an evening of cello music in Malvern.

More than 50 guests attended the event, held at Birtsmorton Court, which featured music performed by Cellissimo – a quartet formed in 2016.

A total of £3,000 was raised to support St Richard’s Hospice’s care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, their loved ones and bereaved people across Worcestershire.

The evening was hosted by hospice patron Rosalie Dawes and her husband Nigel Dawes, and was sponsored by Andrew Grant, who is also a patron of the charity.

Tricia Cavell, fund-raising director at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “The evening was brilliant and we were thrilled to have raised so much money to support our free hospice care.

“We would like to thank our generous hospice patrons for both hosting and sponsoring such a wonderful event; the talented Cellissimo for a fantastic performance – and all those who volunteered on the night.”

Alongside a varied programme of music, guests also took part in a raffle on the evening to help raise funds for St Richard’s.
