PARENTS can find out more about Malvern’s newest primary school later this week.
An information evening will take place on Thursday evening providing residents with details about the new Malvern Vale Primary School which is set to open next year.
The event, taking place at Somers Park Primary School from 6.30pm, will be held just a matter of weeks after council chiefs at Worcestershire County Council gave the final green light for the school to be built on land on Swinyard Road.
The one-form entry school (Reception to Year 6) will expand the existing Somers Park Primary School in order to accommodate pupils from the Malvern Vale housing development.
Thurday’s meeting will advise parents how to apply for a place for their child, the learning and teaching ethos of the school, as well as its leadership structure.
There will also be an opportunity to meet both the Headteacher of Somers Park, Christopher Hansen, and also the principal of Mercian Educational Trust, Stuart Sewell.
Since plans were formally approved, a new website for the school has been set up which can be seen by visiting www.malvernvale.com.
The website lists a number of school objectives along with its new motto ‘We Learn We Grow’.
