Changes to Tenbury Library imminent with rollout of new model

PEOPLE in Tenbury will soon have more freedom to use their local library at a time to suit them.

The centre will soon be adopting Worcestershire County Council’s Libraries Unlocked model.

The service provides more flexibility for customers and community groups to use their local library at times that are convenient to them, such as before or after work and on previously closed weekdays.

Thanks to new technology, members can enjoy a range of services, including borrowing and returning books, utilising free library computers and Wi-Fi, accessing dedicated study spaces, participating in community events, and hiring meeting rooms.

Customers aged 15+ and local community groups to access the library outside staffed hours, from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday.

From August 18, staffed opening hours at Tenbury Library will be changing. To continue enjoying full access to library services, including use of the building during extended hours, customers will need to upgrade their membership by completing a short induction.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Libraries Unlocked to Tenbury,” said Councillor Ian Cresswell, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Communities. “This upgrade gives residents more freedom to use the library in a way that suits their lives, and it’s already had a fantastic impact in other parts of the county.”

To arrange an induction, visit Tenbury Library and speak to a member of staff, or call 01905 822722 to make an appointment.
