Charity cards capture sights

Malvern Editorial 7th Nov, 2013 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

IMAGES of Malvern chosen following a photography competition will appear on charity Christmas cards.

Proceeds from the cards will go towards Malvern Special Families, the nominated charity of Mayor Julian Roskams.

Sean Austin from Austin & Co said: “Christmas cards are an important source of revenue for charities and it was great to produce a range that was entirely about Malvern, from the original photographs, the involvement of the town council, selecting a local charity, printing at Colcards of Malvern and finally sold in the shop on Belle Vue Terrace.

“The best of it is that the images look set to appear on mantelpieces all over the world, we have already received an enquiry from the USA.”

Coun Julian Roskams said he wished to thank Austin & Co for organising the competition and producing the cards.

“Not only will customers from all over the world get the chance to see Malvern at its seasonal best, but it is also a superb way to raise funds for my special charity Malvern Special Families.”

Charity manager Philippa Barton added: “We are immensely grateful for the support of Austin & Co through their Christmas card collection this year.

“All the money raised through this initiative will go towards making sure we can provide the best play opportunities for children and young people with disabilities in the local area.”

An overall winner, who will win stationery and cards to the value of £50, will now be picked by visitors to the Belle Vue shop and the Facebook page.
