NEARLY £2,000 has been presented to Ledbury’s Marie Curie Cancer Care fund-raisers by two town groups.
The Freemasons handed over nearly £1,500 to the cause while the Rushall Club’s cow shed country and western evening raised a further £400.
Chairman Bruce Foster, who accepted the cheque from the Freemasons, said: “Our yellow daffodil charity in Ledbury genuinely welcomes this significant support of the Freemasons for which we are most grateful.”
PR officer Jan Long, who attended the cow shed, added: “It has been a fantastic evening thanks to the hard work and effort made by Ian and Jean Wheeler and members of their committee, and being presented with this magnificent sum of money is a testament to how local people value the work of Marie Curie.”
