A MALVERN Scout Group has received recognition for encouraging young people to try, see and do more, writes Maya Evans.
The 1st Tenbury Scout Group has been encouraging and supporting young people to “dream big, have fun, find their place, make memories and friends that will last a lifetime”.
In 2024 the Scout Troop opened (10-14 year-olds) who have been able to enjoy water activities, archery, tomahawks and an active programme.
The success of these activities has been highlighted in a recent poll, with 94 per cent of Scouts saying they have developed useful skills and 88 per cent saying they’ve tried new activities.
The group’s development has attracted the attention and praise of Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, who replaced Bear Grylls in September.
He said: “I’m incredibly pleased that the 1st Tenbury Scout Group continues to grow. This means more young people in the local community are making friends, building their confidence, and gaining skills that will prepare them for life and work.
“A massive thank you to everyone at 1st Tenbury Scout Group. You’re making all the difference to young lives and bringing people together. Well done to you all.”
The group is currently looking for adult volunteers to join the team. For more information, contact [email protected]
