TWO STARS from children’s TV will be switching on Malvern’s Christmas lights later this month – it has been announced.

Amy Thompson from Channel 5’s Milkshake and Chris Pizzey from The Basil Brush Show will be flicking the switch to mark the countdown to Christmas on Saturday, November 26 at 6pm on Belle Vue Terrace.

The pair will be starring in this year’s Malvern Theatres pantomime Sleeping Beauty which starts on Thursday, December 15.

This year’s switch-on is part of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival which will see activities start at 10am, including a fine food and craft market, Santa’s grotto, live music, refreshments, a parade of lanterns and much more.

Coun Phil Grove, Leader at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “The Christmas Festival is a lovely way to start the Christmas Season in this wonderful town, and gives us the opportunity to support the many great local businesses we have in the area.

“Last year’s festival was packed, with a great lively atmosphere, and we hope that people will once again enjoy all the festive delights on offer.”
