THE MALVERN Lantern Project is set to be bigger and better than ever this year as for the first time entrants can make an entire float.
The annual event which has become a central part of Great Malvern’s Christmas countdown usually sees participants carrying their own created lanterns up Church Street culminating in the switching on of the Christmas lights on Belle Vue Terrace.
However for this year’s event on Saturday, November 30, people can light up whole floats with torches and fairly lights.
There will be a £30 prize for the best community group creation and £20 for the best family or individual entry.
A special workshop will be held on Saturday, November 16, at the Malvern Arts Market in the Priory grounds for anyone who needs help with their design.
The Malvern Lantern Project has been running since 2007 led by Boffy Arts Events People and supported by Malvern Hills District Council as well businesses and groups around the town.
Anyone wishing to take part this year and attend the upcoming workshop can contact Rosie Roberts at [email protected] or on 07734 866 108.
People can also get involved by visiting Malvern Lantern Project on Facebook.
