A CRICKET club in Malvern has donated £1,350 to charity HeartStart.
Richard Vakis-Lowe, HeartStart Malvern’s Founder and Trustee has been presented with a cheque for £1,350 raised by the members of Colwall Cricket Club as their nominated charity for 2025.
Richard said: “I would like to thank Colwall Cricket Club members for their generosity on behalf of our charity.
“This is an incredible amount of money and as a small local charity it will help make such a difference to us. Our running costs are usually between £6K and £7K, so you can see how much your donation will mean to us”.
Members contributed at various events including a Family Fun Day as part of the Simon Oliver Memorial 6-a-side Tournament in July, Charity Tea in August and a Heads or Tails game at their Annual Dinner and Dance in November.
HeartStart Malvern aims to increase the chance of surviving an out of hospital cardiac arrest by using volunteers to train members of the public in basic resuscitation techniques and placing public access defibrillators throughout Malvern and surrounding areas.
Since its launch in January 2017 they have trained over 6,000 local residents and school children how to save a life through training and installed 36 public access defibrillators around Malvern and the surrounding areas.
