PARENTS with toddlers are being encouraged to find out if they could claim free childcare.
Worcestershire County Council says parents in households in receipt of certain benefits could get up to 15 hours of free childcare a week.
The council says nurseries, pre-schools and childminders are able to offer children different experiences which can have a major impact on future life chances.
One parent in Worcestershire, whose child took a place at a local nursery, said:”My daughter’s speech has come on huge amounts.
“She’s built up some good relationships and is a completely different child to how she was a year ago.”
John Campion, county council cabinet member with responsibility for children and families, added: “We have been offering two-year-old nursery funded places for several years now and results have been very encouraging.
“Toddlers gain so much from spending time together and they learn without even knowing it — they just know they’re having fun.”
