MALVERN Hills District Council (MHDC) is set to benefit from an extra £35,000 a year after agreeing a leisure contact with Forest of Dean Council.
MHDC will manage the new leisure services contract the Forest of Dean signed with Freedom Leisure. The agreement will initially last for three years.
Mark Hammond, contracts and performance manager at MHDC, said: “We have got many years’ experience of working with a private contractor to provide leisure services to the benefit of our residents.
“Indeed, our new deal with Freedom Leisure has already resulted in £430,000 worth of investment into our leisure centres.
“We are delighted we can now use our expertise to support the Forest of Dean Council through this process.”
