FIREFIGHTERS battled a blaze on the east side of the Malvern Hills for almost two hours on bank holiday Monday (April 6).
The crews used an Argocat and a Land Rover to get to the fire after the standard engines could only go as far as the Black Hill Car Park, Upper Colwall.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was called about the fire at 5.24pm and, after using beaters and backpacks on the blaze, firefighters dampened down the area and made it safe by 7.15pm that evening.
There was a large area of bracken and trees affected by the fire, spanning 90 by 60metres.
A HWFRS spokesperson confirmed the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
