A PROLIFIC shoplifter from Malvern has been handed a criminal behaviour order (CBO) which will last for two years.
Gemma Graty, of Archer Road, is currently serving a 12-week custodial sentence which was imposed by Kidderminster Magistrates Court on August 10 for shoplifting.
A CBO application was then made and adjourned until today (Friday) so the application could be heard.
The court has now imposed a CBO with the conditions Graty is prohibited from entering Malvern Retail Park, off Townsend Way, and prohibited from entering Victoria Pharmacy on Worcester Road.
PC Steven Tandy, from Malvern’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour and those who continue to commit shoplifting offences.
“We are aware many of the proceeds gained from committing these offences are used to fund a drug taking lifestyle.
“As a team we are committed to taking a hard stance on those who continue to steal to fund their drug habit.
“Members of the public should be able to go about their daily business without having to witness those who cannot behave in a reasonable manner.”
