A NEW funding scheme launched by Malvern District Council (MHDC) will see money invested to bring community projects to life.
The Crowdfund Malvern Hills scheme aims to give individuals, organisations, and businesses the opportunity to create projects that make the district ‘greener, healthier, and connected.’
Projects that sign up to the scheme can receive donations from backers within the community and as much as 50% of the total fundraising target (maximum of £50,000) could be donated by MHDC.
The crowdfund – being run by community fundraising platform Spacehive in partnership with MHDC, was launched earlier this month at an event at Malvern Cube.
Guest speakers included Sarah Nickolds, partnership manager at Spacehive, representatives from MHDC, Maggs Day Centre, Butterfly Conservation Society, and Malvern Link with Cowleigh Parish.
A free online workshop will be held on September 5 from 2pm to 3pm covering in more detail, the funding available, advice on creating a project and tips for organising a crowdfunding campaign.
The workshop event will be recorded for anyone that cannot attend.
