A DINOSAUR exhibition is set to roar into Worcester, and it promises to be a prehistoric adventure.
From July 13 to September 18, the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum will host ‘Dinosaurs on the Doorstep,’ a display featuring dinosaur skeletons and real fossil bones, including original fossils dating back 150million years.
For the first time in the West Midlands, visitors will have the chance to see and touch real dinosaur fossils, bringing the prehistoric world to life in an unprecedented way.
The exhibition will feature impressive skeletons and fossils of over 100 dinosaur species found in Britain.
From harmless herbivores to fearsome tyrannosaurs, and from tiny teeth to massive tail bones, the display will offer a comprehensive look at the dinosaurs that once roamed our land.
Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum curator Claire Cheshire said: “Visitors of all ages will be surprised at the number of British dinosaurs that have been found, and how impressive their skeletons and fossils are.
“We’re really excited to show this new exhibition and get people interested in the world around us and beneath our feet. The exhibition is a must-see for dinosaur fans of all ages.”
The exhibition includes several hands-on activities – at the dinosaur discovery camp and dino-scientist station, visitors can engage in interactive learning, making the exhibition both educational and fun
The opening morning on July 13 will feature special family activities, including a meet-and-greet with Magnus, the Museum’s resident dinosaur.
Throughout the summer, a full program of dinosaur-themed events and activities will keep visitors entertained.
‘Dinosaurs on the Doorstep’ is free to the public and will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm.
