A NEW campaign has been launched to encourage residents to support local businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Malvern Hills District Council’s Reassuringly Local drive shines a light on the many much-loved businesses in the area which offer click-and-collect and delivery services during the current national restrictions.
A list of businesses offering these services is available at www.malvernhills.gov.uk/town-centres
The campaign will also highlight the measures put in place by local traders to ensure people can shop safely and with confidence when out in town centres.
Malvern Hills Council has received funding from the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund, which is from the European Regional Development Fund, to support the safe reopening of high streets across the district.
The council has developed an action plan focused on campaigns and activities such as the installation of hand sanitisers and information signs to ensure high streets are open, safe and welcoming.
The council has also appointed Town Centre Recovery Officer Sophie Jackson to oversee the delivery of the plan and to act as a key point of contact for high street traders.
And free parking will be on offer in Malvern Hills District Council car parks for all vehicles apart from HGVs and motor homes after 3pm every day from December 1 to Christmas Day.
Malvern Hills District Council leader Coun Sarah Rouse said: “We can still support many of our local businesses by taking advantage of their click-and-collect and delivery services throughout lockdown.
“Residents will see our Reassuringly Local campaign promoted on social media, as well as posters across the district, by supporting local we can get through this together.”
