Dreaming spires for Gordon

Malvern Editorial 13th Feb, 2014 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016

A STUDENT from Malvern has spoken of his delight after he received an offer to study at one of the UK’s top universities.

Hereford Sixth Form College youngster Gordon Templeton will be studying Computer Science at Keble College which is part of the University of Oxford later this year.

Gordon, a former pupil of The Chase, is one of 14 talented teenagers who attend the Sixth Form College who achieved sought-after places on degree courses at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge (Oxbridge).

In a 50/50 split, seven will be joining Cambridge and seven, Oxford.

“I chose to come to Hereford Sixth Form College as it’s the best in the area for Oxbridge entrants, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” a delighted Gordon said.

The College takes full advantage of its strong links with Oxford and Cambridge under their widening participation programmes.

Students with Oxbridge potential are encouraged to attend conferences, debates, specialist workshops and summer schools and to develop their interests and extend their studies beyond the classroom.
