A DRIVER was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a serious two-car crash in Malvern this morning.

The collision happened just before 11.30am on the A449, in Newland.

One fire crew from Malvern and one from Worcester helped get the man in his 30s, who was medically trapped, out of his vehicle before handing him over to paramedics for treatment.

Three ambulances and a paramedic officer from West Midlands Ambulance Service attended and assessed three patients.

One man sustained potentially serious injuries and was given treatment on scene before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

A second patient, a child, was assessed and found with minor injuries before being taken to the same hospital for precautionary checks.

A third patient, a woman in her 60s, was checked over and was discharged on scene.

The road was closed while the emergency services tended to the injured.

Officers from West Mercia Police are investigating the crash.

They have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information or dash cam footage to call them on 101 or email [email protected].
