AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after £500 and a quantity of cannabis were found during a raid at a Malvern property.

Malvern’s Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), along with South Worcestershire Cops and HQ Force Operations, carried out the warrant in Elgar Avenue on Friday (October 2) about 7pm.

Officers used chainsaws to get into the first floor flat and had a drug sniffer dog, called Boris, to search the property.

The money and class B drug were found alongside other items which related to suspected drug offences.

A man at the property will now be interviewed on suspicion of drug supplying offences.

PC Jon Hand, SNT for the Pickersleigh Ward, said: “This was a positive warrant and we are investigating an offence of possession of class B with intent to supply.

“The person involved is yet to be interviewed and enquiries are ongoing.

“We acted based on information and complaints from the public and we will continue to do so where we suspect properties are being used to supply controlled substances in Malvern.”

Police also urged anyone with information about drug supply in the town to contact them on the non-emergency number 101 or by calling Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
