AN EASTENDERS actress will play one of the leading roles when panto fever returns to Malvern this year, it has been announced.
Gillian Wright, most famous for her role as Jean Slater in the BBC soap, will play the wicked fairy godmother Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty at Malvern Theatres during the festive season.
Wright joins Channel 5’s Milkshake presenter Amy Thompson, Chris Pizzey from the Bazil Brush Show and stage actor Quinn Patrick as Nurse Kelly.
In 2006 Wright collected a mental health media award for her portrayal of Jean, a bipolar disorder sufferer, in EastEnders.
Wright’s character on the Walford based soap has been on and off in recent years and most recently appeared in the show at the end of last year.
