Efforts prove a smart move

MORE than £4,000 was raised for a Ledbury charity to help them purchase high-tech equipment.

Ledbury Rotary Club president Rob Hooper made Salter’s Hill his charity of the year, raising £4,282 through activities including a fireworks display, street collections and helping at the Welland Steam Rally and the Madresfield Car Show.

The money was used to purchase a smart board, with Rotary members visiting the charity’s base near Falcon Lane to see the equipment once it was installed.

Mr Hooper said: “I used to be a volunteer at Salter’s Hill many years ago and recognised the important and often unsung work being done at Salter’s Hill, so when the opportunity arose for me to help in a practical way, I wanted to provide something which would benefit the students.”
