MORE than 30 firefighters battled a massive blaze at a two-storey barn in Ledbury for over eight hours.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service received several calls from residents about the incident which happened at 2pm on Sunday (April 12).
Six crews – from Malvern, Ledbury, Droitwich, Fownhope, Ross and Hereford – spent over eight hours fighting the fire.
The farmhouse building was used to store furniture and there was also a workshop there.
Firefighters’ biggest fears were the acetylene cylinders which were kept there as they are highly flammable.
A ground monitor was used to ensure the cannisters were kept cool while the firefighters brought the blaze under control using compressed air foam and water jets.
The area was made safe by 10.20pm.
